CHALLENGING
ELEVATION
Elevation, one of Swindon's newest design agencies, is enjoying
exceptional levels of new business. "I couldn't have hoped
for a better start," says Sam. "Since our launch in
March, among many other projects, we've developed a corporate
brochure for the World Digital Audio Broadcasting Forum, implemented
PR campaigns for Bloor Homes and created a community website
for the Priory Vale housing development."

REACHING
FOR THE SKY
Elevation, one of Wiltshire's fastest growing design agencies,
has celebrated its first anniversary of trading. Launched in
March 2003, this innovative outfit has enjoyed a wealth of prestigious
projects. As Elevation's Sam Allen, explains, the company's
meteoric rise is a testimony to their commitment to forming

ONWARDS
AND UPWARDS FOR ELEVATION
Among Elevation's many projects over the past year, the company
has produced adverts, brochures, websites and site hoardings
for award-winning housebuilder, Bloor Homes. Elevation also
masterminded a successful radio campaign to name Bloor's new
development at the previous site of Swindon's Princess Margaret's
Hospital. What's more, a high-profile community newsletter for
Swindon's Priory Vale was planned, written, designed, and distributed
by Elevation.

DO
THEY KNOW WHO YOU ARE?
Planning consistent and effective marketing campaigns requires
the involvement of design specialists from outset. For Sam Allen,
Managing Director of Elevation, the housing industry is a prime
example of how a well-executed corporate identity can work wonders.
"Whatever the project, it's vital companies establish a
targeted identity from the start," says Sam. "Once
established, the campaign falls into place, from printed literature
through to signage and website."

Westlea, Swindon. "We had outgrown our previous offices,"
says Sam Allen, Elevation's MD. "Elevation provides a full
range of marketing solutions, including advertising, graphic
design, and PR, so it was vital we relocated to premises that
could cater for our complete offering. At Basepoint, we have
found the perfect place to take our company to the next level."

NEW
LOOK FOR THAMESDOWN WEBSITE
December
2009
Swindon
bus company Thamesdown Transport has launched a brand
new easier-to use website at www.thamesdown-transport.co.uk
designed by the web team at Elevation in partnership
with SwindonWeb. |
| |
 |
|
|
Thamesdown’s new website, which went live this
month, includes interactive maps showing bus routes.
Customers can also check, from the comfort of their
own homes or from the office, the estimated departure
time for buses at all stops, by following a few simple
steps on the website.
“Our website re-design project has been a key
part of our plan to be as transparent and accessible
as possible to our customers,” comments Paul Jenkins,
Managing Director of Thamesdown. “We also want
to make it easier for people in and around Swindon who
do not usually use the bus to find out what services
we offer and when they operate. The website will help
you plan your route, even if this means changing buses.
Customers can also find out about the range of discount
passes we offer to help them get the best value by travelling
with us.”
Thamesdown Transport is a signatory to the Swindon Business
Charter and has used local suppliers to update its website.
Elevation Creative Studios was responsible for the new
design and SwindonWeb developed the coding for the site.
“Our design for the new Thamesdown website was
a logical extension of the house style we have established
for the company over the last two years,” said
Sam Allen, Managing Director of Elevation Creative Studios.
“The look and feel of the new site is now in keeping
with the Thamesdown brand and will be familiar to regular
bus users and will make it quick and simple for visitors
to find the travel information they are looking for.”
Phil Poulton, Managing Director of SwindonWeb added:
“SwindonWeb was delighted to be involved in this
project to develop Thamesdown Transport’s website,
which utilises the latest top-of-the-range technology
and content management systems. Looking to the future,
we now have the right platform to develop the sort of
features which customers want today, such as new mobile
internet applications.” |

GO FOR WEBSITES AT ELEVATION
October
2009
Elevation
has recently completed a major website design project
for new gift experience company, Go Vouchers, at www.govouchers.co.uk.
The company, which is part of the 'Go' brand and its
well-known 'Go Ballooning' arm, sells vouchers for a
wide range of experience gifts and activities, such
as spa sessions, balloon flights, water sports and driving
days. |
|
|
"It
was great fun working with such a dynamic new company,"
said Sam Allen. "The challenge was to create an
exciting brand and a striking website that makes it
simple for people to choose from a wide range of experience
gifts. I think we've achieved that with the new website,
which is as easy to use as it is on the eye."
Go Vouchers chose Elevation to work on the project following
the team's successful website redesign for partner company
PSH Skypower, at www.skypower.co.uk.
The project also saw the team creating stationery, company
vehicle fleet branding, gift voucher designs, and a
'put me in your pocket' voucher gift box.
Go Vouchers is just one of a number of websites created
by Elevation this year. Others include www.aztecfacilities.com
for a facilities management company, www.bondline.co.uk
for a static control product supplier, www.ecotrak.co.uk
for a vehicle-tracking specialist, and a community portal
at www.highworth.co.uk.
To find out more about Go Vouchers, call 0845 481 0880
or visit www.govouchers.co.uk.

ABOARD WITH THAMESDOWN TRANSPORT
Swindon
Business News, March 2008
|
 |
| Swindon
bus company, Thamesdown
Transport, has kick-started its image with an all
new look and feel to its leaflets, advertising and posters.
The refreshed identity comes thanks to a contract with
leading local design and marketing consultancy, Elevation,
and PR and editorial photography company, Professional
Images.
"We're delighted Thamesdown Transport awarded us
with the contract," said Sam Allen, Managing Director
of Elevation. "As the previous literature was a
little inconsistent, we recommended a complete image
overhaul that reflected the local people and locations
across Swindon and Wiltshire."
Sam
and Simon Apps, Professional Images' Managing Director,
hired professional models to dress as different passengers
on a full-day photo shoot. "We wanted each character
to represent the various passengers that would use the
bus services," said Sam. "From a new mother
with baby through to a businessman in a suit, we've
successfully communicated the fact that the bus services
are excellent and there to be used by everyone."
The project began when Thamesdown Transport called on
Professional Images to photograph its new range of environmentally
friendly low-emission Wrightbus/Scania buses. "It
soon became clear that the company wanted to relaunch
its local publicity," said Simon. "As a working
partner to Elevation, we worked together to arrange
studio and location shoots. The result is a cost-effective
and high-quality photo library that Thamesdown Transport
can use across its literature."

|
 |
|
Paul
Jenkins, Managing Director of Thamesdown Transport,
is delighted with the outcome. "We couldn't
be happier with Simon's photography and the way
Sam has blended our house style with new colour
themes for each of our offerings," he said.
"It sets the right tone for our company,
tells passengers exactly what they need to know,
and helps people envisage themselves using our
services."
"The
contract is another vote from a Swindon company
choosing local professionals," said Sam.
"It proves that local knowledge goes a very
long way." Simon couldn't agree more: "It's
great to be involved with Thamesdown Transport.
They are a company at the heart of Swindon offering
great services that everyone can use and enjoy."

DESIGN AT YOUR DOOR

Marketing.
This one simple word can conjure images of plush
London offices, smooth executives, lavish lunches
and hefty invoices. But as Sam Allen, managing
director at Elevation explained, companies don't
have to travel far to find impressive results
for affordable prices.
"There's a common myth that only big city
agencies can deliver good quality marketing,"
said Sam. "In our experience, that's not
the case. Established local agencies can offer
services that rival the major marketing groups
and at a lower cost. Choosing the right local
agency also comes with extra benefits including
knowledge of your marketplace, fast turnarounds
and easily arranged face-to-face meetings. There's
also the advantage of knowing your agency truly
values your custom rather than treating you like
a low-priority regional client."
"We
can offer clients every service they require,"
he said. "From graphic design and press advertising,
to photography, copywriting and website design,
whatever their needs, we'll take care of everything." |
|
| Many
of Elevation's clients are based in Swindon but have
a national presence. Since launching just over four
years ago, the agency has established relationships
with local organisations including Bloor Homes, Accord
Office Supplies, Wise Employment, the North Swindon
Development Company and Basepoint Business Centres.
Sam believes each chooses Elevation for the company's
ability to provide marketing communications solutions
at a local and national level.
"Our
clients
appreciate the fact that we're right on their doorstep.
So if they have an urgent requirement or want to discuss
their plans, we can arrive at their offices in a matter
of minutes."
Accord Office Supplies is a leading local company that
has used Elevation's services from day one. Tabitha
Penny, Accord's marketing manager, said that with Elevation
at their side, they've never had reason to approach
expensive city agencies for design services. "We
have a large mix of requirements including mailers,
posters, exhibition stands, signage, customer promotions
and email marketing," she said. "There's nothing
that Elevation can't do. Whatever we ask them to provide,
they listen and respond quickly with creative solutions
that always hit the mark." |

SAM
GETS BACK ON TRACK
The

|

Sam
Allen, Managing Director of Elevation, is downing
his design tools and taking to the saddle for
Macmillan Cancer Support. With sponsorship from
friends, clients and colleagues plus a sizable
donation from Bloor Homes, Sam will take part
in the Castles Bike Ride on 3rd June: a gruelling
28-mile trek across the ups, downs and ancient
tracks of the Ridgeway.
"Bloor Homes have been fantastic," smiled
Sam. "As one of our biggest clients, I enjoy
a great relationship with the team. It's an honour
to receive their support with this sponsorship
donation."
While Sam wasn't aware of the ride until recently,
he's been busy getting fit since the start of
the year. "In January, I started a new fitness
regime of cycling and running," he said.
"To the surprise of myself and everyone around
me, I became hooked on the exercise. So when I
first heard of the Castles Bike Ride, I thought
it was the ideal opportunity put my new health
kick to work for a fantastic cause."

WORKING
FOR A BETTER ENVIRONMENT
Swindon
Business News, April 2006
|
 |
|
The
team at Elevation commissioned co2balance.com
to analyse their carbon footprint and offset an equivalent
quantity of CO2 through a tree-planting scheme in Somercombe
Wood on the Devon border.
|
|
Sam
Allen, Elevation's managing director found environmental inspiration
in the unlikeliest of places: the packaging from David Gilmour's
latest album. "A friend designed the CD cover, and I
was intrigued to see the phrase 'Carbon Neutral CD' inside,"
he said. "All the carbon dioxide created from producing
and distributing the CD is replaced by oxygen from planted
trees. As a company always seeking to enhance our environmental
practices, it inspired me to investigate."
Sam contacted
co2balance, who analysed Elevation's annual carbon dioxide
emissions and planted trees for the company at its Bishops
Wood plantation in Devon to offset an equivalent quantity
of CO2. "It's good to know we're doing something positive
while demonstrating corporate responsibility. What's more,
adopting environmentally sound practices helps cut costs throughout
the business."
